December 11, 2016 - Christmas Tea
The Banquet Room at St. Mary's
The Banquet Room at St. Mary's
The 2016 Christmas Tea was back where this event started - in the Banquet Room at St. Mary's, 401 North Street, Chardon, Ohio. Inclement weather prevented our scheduled speaker, Charlene Connors from Women In History from portraying Louisa May Alcott as planned, but Participating Member Lindy Bryson saved the day by gracing us with some of her special brand of personal humor. The three course tea, provided by Upscale Eats was as delicious as it was beautiful! The savory course offered a shrimp shot, Boursin Cheese & Cucumber Sandwich, Fruited Chicken Salad in a mini croissant, spinach quiche and a stuffed mushroom. The second course consisted of still warm from the oven scones served with lemon curd, Devonshire Cream and berry jam. The sweets course brought a Truffle Brownie Cup, Pumpkin Square, Baklava Cup, Citrus Bliss Mini Cake and fresh raspberries in cream. Guests were given their choice of several flavors of tea or coffee. There was a Gift Raffle offering a great variety of items, including a lavish hand decorated wreath, Christmas Breakfast Basket, Reading Basket, Amazon Fire Tablet, Indians Tickets, retail and restaurant gift cards. Despite the snow storm, the majority of our guests were able to make it, and we netted $2,195.89 from the 2016 Christmas Tea. This success was made possible thanks to the support of our sponsors: J. Jeffery Cameron, M.D. and Lake Health. We very much appreciate all they do to make this annual tea a success.
