2012 Events:
Dec. 9, 2012 - 5th Annual Christmas Tea
Friends of WomenSafe 5th Annual Christmas Tea was held at the Red Maple Inn, 14707 S. Cheshire Street, Burton, Ohio. Our guest speaker was Eleanor Roosevelt, as portrayed by Kathie Dice (see photo, in character). The tea was catered by Rosepointe Cottage Tea Room. 65 ladies attended. Every guest took home a small vase of flowers that had been arranged for us by Chesterland Floral. Sponsors for the event were Jeffrey Cameron, M.D.; Lake Health, and Payne & Payne Builders.
The Christmas tea netted $3,326.

Dec. 2, 2012 - 2012 Theater Party
Friends of WomenSafe 2012 Theater Party, held at the Chagrin Valley Little Theater, 40 River Street, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44022. This event made possible through the generous support of Junction Auto Sales. The show was "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". It was a sell-out! 262 people attended and enjoyed complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and homebaked cookies during the intermission and we netted $4,838.81.
Oct. 6, 2012 - Tickled Pink Shopping Extravaganza
Friends of WomenSafe launched a new fundraising event in 2012, "Tickled Pink Shopping Extravaganza", held at Kent State University Geauga Campus, 14111 Claridon Troy Road, Burton, OH.
Admission was $1 with children under 10 admitted free. We had a Chinese Auction and 22 venders including: Tastefully Simple, Lia Sophia Jewelry, Laufa's Page of Paparazzi, Kiki Paprika, Mary Kay, Purely Patty's Homemade Soaps, Thirty-One Gifts, Fairport Hill Jewelry Designs, Gifted Creativity; Silpada Designs; Miche, Professional Safety Consulting & Training, Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Gold Canyon Candles, Skinny Body Care, Juice Plus, Collar Pins, Party Lite and Paws Kitchen.
Admission was $1 with children under 10 admitted free. August 18, 2012 - Amish Wedding Dinner
The 2012 Amish Wedding Dinner was held in the home of Rachel Yoder, 14729 Patch Road, Burton, OH 44021. 56 guests enjoyed home baked chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, hot vegetables, date pudding, rolls, salad and an assortment of mouth watering pies. There was a 50/50 raffle and raffle for a "Geauga Basket" filled with goodies donated from merchants throughout Geauga County.

May 16, 2012 - 2012 Luncheon
The 2012 Luncheon was "Domestic Violence - Artistic Expressions By Survivors" was held at The Banquet Room at St. Mary's, 401 North Street, Chardon, OH 44024. Our featured speaker was Nancy Bruch, M.A., A.T.R., the Art Therapist at WomenSafe. Caterer was The Reserve House. Harp music provided by Virginia Dickson.

May 12, 2012 - Wine Tasting
The Wine Tasting event was held at Pineview Lake, 10036 Wilson Mills Road, Munson, Ohio 44024. 96 people attended the event which featured a Silent Auction, Chinese Auction, 50/50 Raffle, and Wine Pull. Guests sampled wines from Emerine Estates Winery, Harpersfield Winery and Markko Winery as well as chocolate samples provided by White House Chocolates.
